For the purpose of our initiative to implement alternative obstetrics in Ukraine (you can find more details here), OlhaVereshchak and OlhaGorbenko, doulas andprofessionalsof the ‘Semitsvet Family Development Center’, have written an open letter to our Minister of Health of Ukraine inviting his attention to a very important problem – the inadequacy of obstetric aid system in Ukraine, whichjeopardizesthe reproductive functions of a woman and the health of our children!

In recent years we see an increasing number of people rights violations. Most of these violations are related to healthcare rights, especially in regard to pregnancy, birth and parenting. In this article we will look into the basic legal mistakes that are being made when providing medical assistance in prenatal care and at childbirth.
