Beverley Beech is a mother of two boys (now men) and grandmother to one girl and two boys.
She is a lay activist working on parent's rights in maternity care and normal birth, a childbirth activist, formerly Hon Chair of the Association for Improvements in the Maternity Services (AIMS). Formerly: Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine; lay member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council; National Transformation Council.
She lectures, both nationally and internationally, on parent's rights, user issues in maternity care and the over-medicalisation of birth.
She is an author of numerous books and articles about maternity care, for example: 'Am I Allowed?' a book that informs women of their rights in maternity care; and 'Ultrasound Unsound?' which discusses the risks of routine ultrasound examinations in pregnancy and birth.
